Frank Cottrell-Boyce – Runaway Robot

Award winning and much loved children’s author Frank Cottrell-Boyce will be appearing at Chorley Theatre talking about his writing and latest book, Runaway Robot, a funny and heart-warming adventure for children ages 8-12.

Some facts about Frank – he won the Carnegie Medal for his first book – Millions – in 2004 and the Guardian Children’s Fiction Prize for The Unforgotten Coat in 2013. Millions was made into a film by Danny Boyle, for whom Frank went on to work as the writer on the London Olympics Opening Ceremony, 2012. His other books include Framed (filmed by the BBC), Cosmic and The Astounding Broccoli Boy. His book, The Great Rocket Robbery, was published for World Book Day in 2019. He is a judge for 500 Words 2020.

We’re so pleased that Joanna Trollope will be visiting us once again, this time with her latest book Mum & Dad. Join us for an early Mother’s Day treat or simply an opportunity to meet this best-selling author and engaging speaker.

Mum & Dad explores the issues at the heart of a modern family with warmth and wit and asks, when roles are reversed as parents age, children grow and families diverge, how do we look after one another?

Wendy’s World Book Day Storytime

Thursday 5 March, 10.30-11.00

Join us to welcome back our weekly Storytime with a special World Book Day session!

Wendy has chosen some favourites to read and there will be a simple crafty activity to do in our upstairs room. Take home a free World Book Day book. Dress up if you like or bring along something to show us from one of your favourite stories.

Suitable for 2-4ish year olds, free, all welcome!
